I AM OTAY

MAKEUP, FOOD AND FINANCE BLOG PHILIPPINES

Hello my dear readers! I know it's been ages and as you can see I haven't been updating this blog regularly. I'm so back with real good news to everyone!

Flawless is celebrating its 11th birthday and everyone's invited to take advantage of its beauty blowout this National Flawless Month! It's time to jumpstart your top to toe beauty transformation! Visit www.flawless.com.ph or visit a clinic near you for more information.

I practically love wearing sleeveless outfits and I'm not just a fan of boleros and cardigans kind of thing. If you are a regular reader of this blog, you might have noticed my rant about my flabby arms! I feel that I really look stupid with a small body and a big fat flabby arms.  It is also the reason why I haven't posted OOTD's for quite sometime. I am trying to loose weight and it is quite successful on my other body parts but on my arms. I've been doing lots of exercises to tone my arms (or maybe I'm doing it the wrong way) but to no avail. A big FAIL! Looks like the batwings are here to stay. I think no amount of exercise or dieting is going to help these big problem. I must say that surgery is the only solution to my sleeveless dress dilemma but duh! its pretty much expensive. Should I blame it on my Mcflabby habit? Lol!

So when I heard about this good news from flawless, I danced not because there's music but because a girl like me can dream and this could be it! Looks like my fairy godmother heard my wish. I've been dying to try the Shape and Sculpt treatment but I'm a poor girl always short of cash. And maybe, just maybe, in God's will, my wish will come true. Who knows, I might be blogging about my FLAWLESS BEAUTY TRANSFORMATION "EXPERIENCE" next time. You could too!

I recently had my trip to Cebu for some R&R. And since I'm a big fan of Market Man , the owner of Zubuchon, I did not waste the opportunity to try the famous Lechon who was declared by the World Famous Chef Anthony Bourdain as "The Best Pig Ever".

This is the goodness of Zubuchon.

The Food:

The star of our lunch was the lechon itself. Nomnom! We ordered 1 kilo for P580

I was expecting the kamias shake to be sour, but it was not at all. It has a nice kick of acid in it but it also had a nice blend of sweetness. Pasok sa banga! A must try, really.

Studs and spikes are one of the hottest trends right now, they've been everywhere on apparel and accessories, from the runway and on the streets. Clearly, everyone's embracing this dangerous trend. The coolest part is that you don't have to be a tough girl covered with tattoo's and piercing to wear them. They can be edgy, sweet, casual or dressy. It just depend on how you play with them. I'm a very big fan of this trend because it's easy to create DIY out of studs and spikes. It adds amazing character to dull pair of jeans or shoes or any garment.

Here are some inspiration pics I swept over the web:

So this is the first time I'm going to make a review about a clothing website. A blogger's new task!

I recently discovered this site called CLOTHINGLOVES.COM. They offer mainly wedding dresses and special occasion dresses but has a variety of choices from women's and men's clothing to accessories and more. In addition to their primary offerings, they also have holiday specials, bedding and lounge, fashion shoes and wigs. What I like more about the site is they offer Wholesale Women's Clothing! Good news for Online Sellers like me.

What's good about this online boutique is their guarantee of giving their customers high quality products that meets their standards following strict protocols and requirements. They also ship to almost anywhere in the world  via major carriers so shoppers are guaranteed that the products will arrive on time. And what's more? The prices are so affordable! Women's fashion start from $1.59; men's fashion start from $3.99; wedding apparel start from $0.46; occasion dresses start from $23.81; and jewelry start from $2.87. They accept paypal, visa, mastercard and western union as payment methods thru their secured payment gateway.

The site is very easy to navigate. Talking about convenient shopping at your fingertips! Their customer service is excellent providing 24-hour service to ensure better shopping experience to each and every online shoppers.

So what are you waiting for? Visit CLOTHINGLOVES and get 15% coupon for every new sign up! You may also like their Facebook Page

So maybe this blog is turning into a nail art blog hehe. Of course not, I will still post #OOTD's once in a while. I'm just really busy with my nail art love affair. For now, I'll be sharing my #NOTD and I hope you like them as much as I do.

I don't know what to call this design but I was thinking about cherries while doing this. I used bobbie nail polish as base and 2-way nail pens to draw the cherries.

Do they look like cherries? You should agree with me, after all I'm just a beginner hehe. xoxo :) Now my problem is how am I gonna do it on my right hand :)

Aztec and tribal prints are so in nowadays. You can see them everywhere, from accessories to shoes, from bags to dresses, name it and there is nothing that you can't find in these prints. This trend  I think is cool and edgy depending on how you carry them.

And so here's what I'm talking about, my nails! This is the first time I used nail decals and I'm so loving it.

aztec nails

Forgive me for the smudges, I'm so excited to post that I forgot to remove them. I promise to make my pics a little more decent next time. XoXo

Last Saturday, I've finally bought my very first nail art tools. Those dotting tools and little brushes you know. I also bought nail decals and plenty of nail polish. You just don't know how much I am addicted to nail art these days.

Today, I came across this BLOG that's all about nails. Oh my I'm so thrilled! They're so beautiful I wanna die! I stalked her blog for a while and found some designs that are easy peasy to make. Tsk tsk, If only I had more time and energy to change my nail polish everyday......

Are you drooling yet? She really nailed it! So, to all nail art lovers out there, follow her blog HERE

Many bloggers get started with high hopes for getting rid of their full-time job and earning a living from their blog. While it’s certainly possible, a very small percentage of bloggers get to this point. In order to be a career blogger,  there must be some sort of entrepreneurial spirit lying within you. Here are some inspiring quotes to keep me and you motivated.

  • “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” - Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple and Pixar
  • “The key is to just get on the bike, and the key to getting on the bike… is to stop thinking about ‘there are a bunch of reasons I might fall off’ and just hop on and peddle the damned thing. You can pick up a map, a tire pump, and better footwear along the way.” - Dick Costolo, founder of Feedburner.com
  • “Nobody talks of entrepreneurship as survival, but that’s exactly what it is.” - Anita Roddick, founder of The Body Shop
  • “In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.” – Bill Cosby
  • “Life is really simple as far as I’m concerned. There is no luck, you work hard and study things intently. If you do that for long and hard enough you’re successful.” - Jason Calacanis, founder of Weblogs, Inc.
  • “I wasn’t satisfied just to earn a good living. I was looking to make a statement.” – Donald Trump
  • “An entrepreneur tends to bite off a little more than he can chew hoping he’ll quickly learn how to chew it.” - Roy Ash, co-founder of Litton Industries
  • “You must either modify your dreams or magnify your skills.” – Jim Rohn
  • “I find that when you have a real interest in life and a curious life, that sleep is not the most important thing.” - Martha Stewart, founder of Omnimedia
  • “Success is often achieved by those who don’t know that failure is inevitable.” – Coco Chanel

Much, much easier said than done. But certainly possible right?

What is your entrepreneurial mantra? How do you stay motivated? Hit me a comment will you?

It's been raining in the Philippines since last week and rainfall continues as I write this blogpost. Still fresh from the wounds of Ondoy, yet we are in a state of calamity once again. I can not express how fortunate and thankful I am to be safe at home with my family. I’ve been through a fair share of scary flood trouble back in 2009, when Ondoy hit Metro Manila and it made me panic at the sight of rain ever since. I can only imagine the fear in everyone’s hearts right now.  I was so happy when I woke up today seeing the sun comes up, but to my dismay, the rain poured again in the afternoon. What just made me happy is the fact na #WALANGPASOK

As I browse thru my twitter timeline, I saw many passionate people striving to help others. Celebrities like Divine Lee and Regine Velasquez has been tweeting non stop to help in relief and rescue operations, and I really salute them for their efforts. They're beyond amazing!

Today we find ourselves in desperation and fear, but tomorrow we will stand strong and united, just like we did the last time.

Here are some of the ways to get info and help:
If you know anyone in need of immediate rescuing/evacuation assistance, tweet #RescuePH

Take note of these EMERGENCY HOTLINES
Here is a list of EVACTUATION CENTERS AND RELIEF OPERATIONS in Metro Manila where you can drop by and help
Keep in mind that after wading in flood waters, you need to take 2 100mg DOXYCYCLINE capsules as soon as possible. Take them for 3-5 days if you have any open wounds that were exposed to the water and consult a doctor if you get other symptoms.

After so many months of slacking off, I have finally squeezed a little time for my hobby. I love making DIY accessories just so you know. I've been ranting about it for so long, on how busy I was with my day job blah blah blah that's why I can't buy supplies . So now, I just can't hide my excitement haha because I bought them already and I'm just so enthusiastic  about the projects that I'm going to make.

Forgive me for the crappy photos because I just used my phone. So what do you think guys? haha pwede na ba?  Just send me a message if you want to buy my accessories. Xo

I'm always fascinated going to public markets because I see so many variety of goods. My recent tour to Pasig palengke was fun because I brought my camera for the first time to document my palengke day. But warning guys, going there is no walk in the park. You have to get ready to deal with the heat, the noise and yes, pick-pocketers.

The market is subdivided into 3 floors. The ground floor for the wet market selling fishes, meats, vegetables and produce. The second and third floor houses the "Tiangge" where you can find  RTW's at bargain prices fresh from the mananahi. They also have accessories, shoes, curtains, pillows and many more. It's like Divisoria because prices are so affordable.

If you want to start a clothing and accessory business with a small capital, Pasig Market is the place to go. Schedule is every Wednesday and Friday 8pm onwards.
