I AM OTAY

MAKEUP, FOOD AND FINANCE BLOG PHILIPPINES

Hello! I'm back once again for a quick review of this new whitening/skincare discovery. Peel-off masks are very popular nowadays and I've been seeing a lot of them on YouTube. When I read about this product, I got excited to buy because of the very positive reviews. I bought the trial pack for testing purposes. So here's my experience guys...

I bought this kit for P54 at Watsons which contains 2 peel-off masks and 1 pore purifying balm. The packaging is very cute and just good enough for one use.

iWhite Korea Pore Purifying Balm is a great partner product to iWhite Korea Nose Pack & Whitening Pack as it effectively helps loosen up and absorb the stubborn pore clogging oils, dirt, and toxins present in the pores. I felt a little itch on first application but its okay. This balm helps the peel off mask to perform better and make it easy to pull out deep seated dirt, blackheads and whiteheads. So, this should be used together with the whitening pack.

iWhite Whitening Pack is a peel-off mask that effectively strips off all kinds of skin impurities. With the use of iWhite Whitening Pack, visible results can be seen immediately; an instantly brighter, clearer and smoother skin. It has a liquid consistency like glue and it dries off easily so it should be applied immediately on your face. It has a distinct smell but it's tolerable though. After applying, my face became stiff and hard but that's how the product works anyway. True enough, I saw amazing result in an instant. It gave my face an instant glow and I felt that a good amount of gunk was removed on my face. This product also claims that through continued use, it will give you a whiter complexion. How cool is that?

There is a product instruction inside the kit and you must follow it or else you will get a funny experience like mine.

I used this kit in the morning after taking a bath on a work week. According to the pack you should put a generous amount of the mask on your face but I just applied a thin layer because I was making tipid and it was a disaster. I was late for work because it took me very long time to remove the entire product on my face. Well, that was the first time, I learned my lesson hahaha.

Overall, though my first try was awful, I highly recommend this product because it works. I'm very satisfied and I'm going to continue using this until I get the best result. I will definitely put this product on my beauty must-have list. And yes, this one goes to my favorite list too.

Naked 3 palette has been the most popular eyeshadow ever since it came out. As usual, the kuripot side of me always prevails so I never tried contemplating on buying it because of the price. Luckily, L.A. Girl came up with a dupe of the famous Naked 3 palette, The Beauty Brick Nudes. According to beauty bloggers, this palette is very similar to the Naked 3.

This palette is my go-to everyday eyeshadow palette and I've been using it non-stop, no complains so far.  I love neutral colors because it flatters my skin tone.

The palette comes in a cardboard magnetic packaging similar to the UD original naked palette. It contains 12 eyeshadows, with rosy-toned neutral shades, a tiny mirror, and a double-sided eyeshadow applicator (a brush and sponge tip). Price: P499 in Sm stores.

L.A. Girl Website Product Description:
Four gorgeous must-have eyeshadow palettes filled with a dozen majorly pigmented shades ranging from super wearable looks like Nudes to bolder looks like Neons. L.A. Girl’s Beauty Brick Eyeshadow Collection gives you the best of all colors to allow you to create stunning looks!
The variety of colors and textures in the Beauty Brick Eyeshadow Collection include shimmer and matte shades making these captivating palettes very versatile to go from an everyday look to a night out.

Each unique look is featured in its own luxurious glossy book with a double-ended brush and mirror inside.

-Dimensional shimmers
-Smoothest mattes
-Major pigments

Overall, I'm satisfied with this one and I have no plans to buy the Naked palette. This is a very good dupe I'm telling you guys.

Our skin is the largest body organ and it is important to know what it's absorbing. It is very essential that we make effort to protect ourselves from the harmful ingredients that they contain. Additionally, cosmetic products and their ingredients don’t need to be approved before they hit the market. As the end user, it is our responsibility to make sure that we are using health-friendly products.

According to Livestrong.com, when choosing make up and skin care products, here are six ingredients that we should avoid:

1. Oxybenzone
Look for It in: Sunscreens, moisturizers, lip gloss.
Why Avoid It: It’s a potential hormone disruptor.
Here is a list of safer sunscreens WITHOUT oxybenzone.

2. Phthalates
Look for It in: Soaps, shampoos, hair sprays, nail polish (avoid polish containing dibutyl phthalate), products containing “fragrance.”
Why Avoid It: According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), “Some types of phthalates have affected the reproductive system of laboratory animals.” CDC researchers found measurable levels of many phthalate metabolites in the urine of the general U.S. population.

The EWG writes, “A growing number of studies indicate that this chemical family damages the male reproductive system.” EWG advises that pregnant women should avoid nail polish containing dibutyl phthalate , and that everyone should avoid products with "fragrance" indicating a chemical mixture that may contain phthalates.

3. Petroleum distillates
Look for It in: Mascaras. Here are some mascaras containing petroleum distillates.
Why Avoid It: According to the EWG, these petroleum-extracted ingredients may cause contact dermatitis and are often contaminated with cancer-causing impurities. They are produced in oil refineries at the same time as automobile fuel, heating oil and chemical feedstocks.

4. Formaldehyde
Look for It in: Nail polish, eyelash adhesive, hair dyes and keratin hair straightening formulas.
Why Avoid It: In 2004, formaldehyde was declared to be a carcinogen to humans by the International Agency on Research on Cancer (IARC). According to EWG, formaldehyde (also an asthmagen, neurotoxicant and developmental toxicant) was once mixed into many personal care products as antiseptic. This use has declined, but some hair straighteners (and keratin treatments) are based on formaldehyde's hair-stiffening action and release substantial amounts of the chemical.

5. Toluene
Look for It in: Nail polish.
Why Avoid It: Toluene is used to help nail polish glide on more smoothly, but according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), “Chronic inhalation exposure of humans to toluene causes irritation of the upper respiratory tract and eyes, sore throat, dizziness, and headache. Human studies have reported developmental effects, such as CNS dysfunction, attention deficits, and minor craniofacial and limb anomalies, in the children of pregnant women exposed to high levels of toluene or mixed solvents by inhalation.”

6. Fragrance
Look for It in: All products
Why Avoid It: According to The Breast Cancer Fund, synthetic fragrances used in cosmetics can have as many as 100 ingredients --including hormone-disrupting phthalates, synthetic musks, and ethylene oxide. ”Fragrance” is usually a chemical cocktail, often containing individual chemicals associated with allergic reactions and hormone disruption. Some fragrance chemicals have not been assessed for safety. Until all fragrance ingredients are disclosed on the label, consumers cannot know what is in a particular fragrance.

Let's be safe guys! Read the labels before using them!
